Another exciting night of racing is in the books at Kankakee County Speedway. With the school year just about over and summer vacations on the rise, still 82 cars entertained an enthusiastic crowd in six divisions plus a huge kids bike giveaway took place all throughout the night.

Jose Parga of New Berlin, IL made his first visit of the season to claim the $2000 top prize for the Romar Transportation UMP Pro Late Models while also earning his second career win. A perennial national championship contender, Parga had to stave off the challenges by Devin McLean, both regulars at the Farmer City Raceway. Matt Hammond would claim the third spot ahead of Chase Osterhoff and Torin Mettille. Parga, Hammond and McLean also picked up earlier heat race wins amongst the 22 cars entered.

In CR Towing UMP Modified action it was Plainfield, IL driver Mike McKinney, no stranger to victory lane over the years, scoring his 30th career modified triumph just ahead of Jamie Lomax, whom he is now tied with in career wins. Steven Brooks grabbed the third spot ahead of Frank Marahall and Jason Hastings. Marshall and Hastings captured heat race wins in earlier action.

Austen Hubbard of Valparaiso, IN returned to his winning ways netting his fifth win of the season in the 3 Sons Auto Salvage UMP Stock Car division. Hubbard withstood the challenges of Cody Clubb, Jerrad Krick, Megan Erwin and Steve Perkins. Perkins was awarded the fifth spot after Matthew Balthazor failed to scale after the race. Erwin captured the lone heat race as only nine cars were present.

In other race action Lee Joseph Hall of Fowler, IN scored the win in the Express Powersports UMP Factory Stock division after overtaking new track record holder Nathan Arterberry midway through the 15-lap event. Arterberry erased a nearly one year benchmark set by the late Lee J. Hall with a lap of 17.814 or .04 better than Hall's time.

Hayden Lomax rallied on the final lap to overtake Damion Wilmoth for third while Mike Reitz claimed the fifth spot. Trevor Bitterling and Hall earned heat race checkers in preliminary action.

The Miller Hydraulic UMP Pro Modified division finally saw a new face in victory lane as it was Brayden Doyle of Oakwood, IL out racing Deece Schwartz to the checkered flag. It was Doyle's second win of the season. Ryan Kohler, Curtis Caldwell and Pete Argianas rounded out the top five of the 14 car field. Kohler and Schwartz claimed heat race honors.

Lastly, Jimmy Dutlinger of Peoria garnered his second trip to victory lane in the First Place Oils UMP Sport Compact class after a tremendous battle with David Lauritson. Joshua Wright, Dale Kohler and Evan Eckhoff rounded out the top five. Lauritson and Dutlinger also scored the wins in earlier heat race action.

Matt Radtke was once again the top shoe in the Stock 4 Cylinder class.
