This Friday night, June 9th, Kankakee County Speedway is hosting the Bill Davis Memorial race for UMP Modifieds. A 50-lap $2000 to win extravaganza presented by our great marketing partner Dyer's Top Rods of Forrest, IL.
The race honors the life and accomplishments of the legendary Bill Davis of Chesterton, IN. His racing career spanned seven decades and he currently ranks sixth all-time in total wins at the track with 43, and is one of only four drivers in the history of the speedway to earn at least five track championships.
On March 10, 2022 Bill Davis passed away at home after a lenghty battle with emphysema at age 82. Expect some of the very best Midwestern modified drivers to be strapping in for this one. Bill Davis was truly a racer's racer.
The night will also feature a UMP Modified non-winners race for those who have never claimed a feature win.
Also on the card will be a full program of racing in the other five divisions who compete weekly at the track including a $900 to win UMP Factory Stock feature courtesy of Lee Joseph Hall motorsports who generously added $600 to the winners share.
